Clay County Property Appraiser
As an elected constitutional official, Tracy Drake was commissioned to the position of Clay County Property Appraiser and inaugurated on January 5, 2021. Starting his appraisal career in 1993, he held multiple positions in the office, including Assistant Property Appraiser, Director of Appraisal Services, Supervisor of Commercial Appraisal Services, and Real Property Appraiser.
Tracy is a proud native of Clay County and a graduate of Clay High School. He subsequently received his Associate of Arts degree from Florida State College at Jacksonville and graduated (with honors) from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies: Commerce, Public Affairs and Political Science. He is an active member of the Property Appraiser’s Association of Florida (PAAF), the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO), and Past President of the Florida Chapter of IAAO (FCIAAO). He obtained the Assessment Administration Specialist (AAS), the Residential Evaluation Specialist (RES), and the Certified Assessment Evaluator (CAE) designations through the IAAO and was honored with the 2018 Verne W. Potorff Professional Designee of the Year Award and the 2016 Member of the Year Award. He also earned the Accredited Senior Appraiser: Real Property Ad Valorem Mass Appraisal-General designation from the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), the Certified Florida Appraiser (CFA) certification from the Florida Department of Revenue, and the State-Certified General Real Estate Appraiser’s license (RZ2759) and the Real Estate Sales Associate’s license (SL3505632) from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations.
