GIS DATA AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD
The Clay County Property Appraiser uses ArcGIS software to create maps as a tool to ensure accuracy in the generation
of a tax roll. It is our desire to make the resulting data available to the public for general use, free of charge and
easily obtained. This download page, depending on it's use and the needs of our citizens, may expand to include
additional shape files. They are compacted into a .zip format to make the downloads faster.

As with the sales data, we will make every attempt to update these files on a regular basis, roughly, every two to
three weeks as the website is updated in regards to the Property Search page. For those who normally pay $35.00 per data request,
these are the same files with some additional information that you may not normally request, but there is no such thing
as too much information. This set contains the following information:
* Building.csv
* Building.dbf
* Building.fdf
* Land.csv
* Land.dbf
* Land.fdf
* Property.csv
* Property.dbf
* Property.fdf
(.fdf is a file description file - opens with notepad)
The Property.csv file is too large to open in Excel (unless you happen to have version 2007), so we have imported it,
as well as the other two GIS files, into the MS Access 2000 database. If you do not own a copy of MS Access, this data
can be imported into any other database program that can import .csv files. This ought to save a lot of time and
frustration for you, the user, as it will now be available whenever you want it!
