Roger Suggs was born in Fairfield, Florida. Prior to accepting the position of Assistant Clay County Property Appraiser in 1990, he served as the Regional Supervisor for the Florida Department of Revenue, overseeing the field appraisals for the six northeast Florida counties. Mr. Suggs has worked in the Assessment/Appraisal field for more than 34 years. Mr. Suggs took the oath of office for the position of Clay County Property Appraiser on January 6, 2009.
Mr. Suggs holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with a specialty in management, is a Certified Cadastralist of Florida, and a State-Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. He is the first person in Florida to receive the Assessment Administration Specialist (AAS) designation awarded by the International Association of Assessing Officers. Mr. Suggs is the Past-President for the Florida Association of Property Appraisers, Inc.
Mr. Suggs is active in the community through membership in the Clay County Cattlemen's Corporation, Clay County Farm Bureau, Advisory Council of the Salvation Army, and is the Past-President of the Rotary Club of Green Cove Springs.
